Since 2016, Mara Basin Conservation Forum (MBCF) has worked alongside communities, local institutions and development partners to advance locally led solutions to Kenya’s development challenges. From environmental conservation and climate resilience to inclusive governance, peacebuilding and sustainable livelihoods, we bring people together to protect what matters, strengthen community capacity and create pathways to lasting change.
MBCF believes that sustainable development begins with communities and grows through meaningful partnerships, shared responsibility and locally driven action.
Our Purpose
We connect community priorities with practical solutions for lasting change.
Communities possess valuable knowledge, ideas and capabilities to address the challenges affecting their lives. Yet, lasting progress often requires stronger institutions, access to resources, inclusive decision-making and partnerships that support local action.
MBCF works at this intersection, supporting community-led initiatives that advance social justice, environmental sustainability, peaceful coexistence and economic resilience.
